COMMENT:  Fruit - raw or cooked in pies, preserves etc. Young shoots - harvested as they emerge through the ground in the spring, peeled and eaten raw or cooked like asparagus. .(1)

NUTRITION/MEDICINAL:  Fruit - very high in Vitamin C, fiber, potassium, Vitamin A and calcium, chocked full of antioxidants and very good for treating eye diseases. Like the blackberry, the raspberry’s leaves can be used for a tea and to treat minor cases of diarrhea. It is also suggested for regulating menses.(2) The leaves and twigs are used as a tea substitute for medicinal purposes.(1)
